For today, I have simply uber cool freebies - 2 QP's, 1 (amazing) cluster and one word overlay for commercial use.

But before I give them away, a little more trivia about the US Indpendence Day (sorry, I just love trivias!):

1. Thomas Jefferson's version of the Declaration was made up of 1,817 words; Congress made 68 changes, cutting 480 words, which left the finalized document’s word count at 1,337 words. (source)

2. "The Star-Spangled Banner" started out as a poem named "The Defense of Fort M'Henry" and was written on the back of an envelope. (source)

3. The Declaration’s famous signature by John Hancock is almost 5 inches long. (source)

Enough of that for now. Here's what Tammy - the other half of my lifesaver team - whipped up for you all:

A quickpage plus a cluster! Thanks Tam for making this really cool cluster. Check out Tammy's blog (link above) because she also has a lineup of freebies for this month over at her blog (someone's turning a year older and a lot more amazing this July 1!)

The quickpage looks totally awesome, and the cluster just rocks. Here's a layout I made using it with one of the papers in TAS kit and the alpha (can someone help me come up with a name for this alpha? Rusty-metal-edged-vintage-newspaper alpha is just too much of a mouthful!) :

The Fourth Estate refers to the press (First Estate refers to the clergy, Second the nobles, Third the commoners and the Fourth, the press.) "Yonder sits the Fourth Estate, and they are more important than them all." I, however, beg to disagree with Edmund Burke (who reportedly said those lines according to Thomas Carlyle's book 'On Heroes and Hero Worship') as I believe that the commoners - or the people- are the most important of them all. Without people, there would simply be no stories to write about.

But I digress. The "That American Spirit" kit is still on sale for $2.50. Once the sale period is up, it will be regularly priced (double the sale price). My kit is just one of the currently four kits that are on sale for Scrap Outside the Box's summer challenge. You can check out the rest of the really creative kits that the other participating designers submitted for this round here.

So where's the commercial use freebie?

The word overlay you see in the preview is for commercial use. It's the overlay I used in one of the papers in TAS kit. You can use it in kits that are about growing up, or value formation or about going to school.

The QP inside is for personal use.

Now sit tight as there are more freebies to come from Rebecca and Janette this time!

PS- Thank you to Kathryn (SassyIndy) and Simply Sarah for the wonderful comments they left in yesterday's post. You all made my day...no, week!
