I'm tired. It's been one bad day after another for me lately that I have often found myself coming home drained and cranky.
I'm tired of doing the same thing over and over again. After 11 years of doing what I do, the word "burnout" comes to mind. Is that what I am now? Burned out? Not sure. Sure feels like it.
I have been chasing and churning stories day in and day out for the past 11 years. A lot of people have told me they wish they had my job. I used to smile and nod in agreement whenever I heard that, back when I was still thriving on the hectic world of journalism with its deadlines, threats of libel suits, typos, endless press conferences and drama among harried reporters all searching for that one story that will get their byline on the headline.
I really loved all that.
But now, I'm just tired of all that. I guess when you have too much of a one thing, however good it is, the walls start closing in and you want to claw your way out and seek something new, something fresh, something exciting.
Maybe that's the reason why divorce rates are soaring. Could be that after a while, marriage can start feeling like a prison cell. Not just marriage but any romantic long-term relationship can feel confining sooner or later., I guess. But I digress. I'm not an authority on divorce, marraige nor long-term relationships as I have not experienced all of those. Yet. *haha*
I wonder, what does one do to get his mojo back? How can you get back that spark, fan the flames and then keep it burning for as long as you want it? I'll sleep on that one tonight, and maybe wake up with an answer in the morning.
Before I end this post, I'd like to say thank you to those who came and croaked in my comments area. It's really lovely to hear from you ladies, it puts faces to the numbers that downloaded as indicated either at 4shared (no more of that now!) and now box.net. Figures can be so cold, and I yearn for a little interaction with those who downloaded the freebies I put up here. It gets a little lonely in here sometimes, talking to myself. :-) So thank you to 2 Twisted Sisters, Juno, Designed by K (hiya girl! Glad to see you around here again!), Melinda, my fellow Pinay and a talented designer Lorie M. Designs, the wonderful Fa Maura (who owns Scrap-Team Shop, one of the 2 stores I sell in) - it's absolutely wonderful to hear from you ladies.
A loud thank you also to Creative Busy Hands Digital Scrapbooking Freebies Search and DigiFree for bringing people over here to my little nook.
I'm feeling kinda sad though that no one joined the contest I set up last week. :-( But that's ok, I guess 'twas too early for that. Maybe next time, I'll make sure to include a brand new car, house and lot and luxury trip abroad in my slew of grand prizes. *haha*

Rachelle, Love the kit and the fridge is adorable! I love the froggie flair and all your wonderful doodles. Sorry I didn't enter your contest but I don't consider myself a wonder mom --- I was more like a slacker mom -- since I combined motherhood, working, and back to school. I find that work/career have ups and down. Remember the job hasn't changed perhaps you just need to change how you look at it. Hugs and keeping looking for your mojo!

You need a mini vacation....3 or 4 day weekend...to rejuvenate yourself.
I hope you can get away for your health. Because not taking a break when it is so obvious that you need one, because you are mentally and psychically drained.
I been there done that.

@Fa: You're too sweet! Thank you!
@ Lainey: Sounds like you're one super mom! Can't imagine how you can juggle all that and still go back to school. I like what you said, makes me realize it's not the job, it's how I'm looking at it. Thanks for that insight! Fingers still crossed for the mojo :-) And I also love the froggie flair :-D
@Laura: 'xactly! Dying for a vacay, no matter how short-lived it might be. Thank you too for your CU Freebies Forum, brought people over here. I'll make sure to include the site in my 'link love' soon to be posted in my sidebar.
