Just when I finished drawing this frog, Chris broke the bad news that the female in the pair of uyamas we bought not too long ago died today. He found her nose down in a bromeliad axil underwater.

I'm so upset and I know Chris is even more so as he built their tank himself and handpicked the uyama pair. He let me pick the names for them and we both agreed on Dilag for the female , which is Tagalog for beautiful, single lady and Hanzo for the male, after the fierce samurai.

It's a little bit silly for me to be so sentimental over this. But I'm not really the most 'unsilly' person in the world. So I let myself mourn and cry for a moment, the way I cried when my first pet dog died when I was still a kid. I guess you never forget your first of anything, like your first love or your first kiss, and she and Hanzo were the first frogs I co-own (Chris and I split the cost).

Chris assured me that we will get another frog soon, hopefully a new mate for Hanzo if that's possible.

For now though, goodbye Dilag...

I'm sorry for your loss. I have never had a pet frog. I've had a lot of different kinds of "pets", but never a frog.

I enjoyed seeing your photos, even though seeing that small monkey cage leaves me sad. Nothing should have to live in such a confined space. But that's just my way of thinking.

Have a great day, Hugs, Edna B.
