Hi gals! I am totally swamped these days. Let's see- I finished 3 kits this month, including the just revealed Splash kit (thank you to those bought it!). The second installment of the One Messy Summer series will be revealed next week (keeping fingers crossed here). The third kit I finished is my submission for the first round of Scrap Outside the Box's kule(r)™ summer challenge, which will be unveiled next month. I signed up as a guest designer for this challenge early this month. Nothing like a challenge to keep those creative juices oozing.
In addition to the 3 kits, I whipped up a small contribution for Digi Town Square's unique blog train. The color swatch is simply yummy! Plus I have on the drawing table right now two things- a collab in the making with a really, really creative designer which I will talk more about later, all in due time; and an add-on to the One Messy Summer series chock full of hand-drawn beauties by me and two other talented peeps.
Whew. With so much going on in my corner of digiland, I hope you stick around for all these happenings! There will be freebies and games squeezed in between the projects.
Plus, in real life land, my best friend is getting married! She broke the news to me just early last week. I didn't know whether to cry or be happy. Especially when she said that the wedding date is going to be this September already. It's all so sudden and so unexpected. Don't get me wrong- I love weddings, I love my best friend and I don't hate the guy who's snatching her away from singledom. I'm happy because after being together for about 5 or 7 years now, they're finally tying the knot.
But I'm sad too, the way a girl can only feel sad to see her best friend get hitched, especially if the girl (me) is still single. Now, I'll have to bear the single-girl-in-her-30's jokes all alone now. Sheesh. It just won't be the same anymore now that she's getting married. I know, I know, I didn't lose a friend but gained another and all that. Sigh.
So now I suddenly find myself wearing the wedding planner shoes, and dang the shoes are a tight, uncomforable fit. I have around 2 months to plan a church wedding. How ever can I pull this off? I'm going to need a lot of divine intervention.
In my hasty Googling over the weekend, I bookmarked these sites: Vintage Glam, My DIY wedding day, I Do It Yourself, and for bridal shower invites- StationeryStyle.com. I'll be her maid of honor, wedding planner, and host her bridal shower. I will also design her invites, centerpieces and souvenirs. The budget and sked is tight, so 99% (if that's possible) of the wedding will be DIY.
I have 2 months to do all that.
Two months!
In which case, I need all the help I can get. So if you got any ideas, suggestions, pics of your own wedding day with DIY ideas, please email them to me!
Now, on to the freebie. My lovely friend Janette- who is now my regular hybrid girl- crafted wonderful goodies from the Splash kit which is on sale till the 22nd. You will see in the picture the whole creative kaboodle:
Gorgeous aren't they? Jan made a candy wrapper, mint topper, pouches and lollipop cover. I LOVE it all! You can make your own too because Janette, bless her generous heart, has allowed me to share here all the templates for you to just print and cut. I only wish Janette has a blog so I can point you to where you can thank her personally.
I will release her templates one by one, so for this week, you get the candy wrapper:

The template is in .png sized 8.5x11 inches at 3300x2550 pixel. It's large so it prints out clear and crisp. Just perfect for summer outings and kids' pool parties.
Be sure to drop by next week for the next hybrid and digital freebies!

And who's that mystery designer you're talking about? ;-)
